SHANE PACEY is a Blues/Funk Legend in Australia. His stellar 4-decade career spans fabled bands including The Foreday Riders, The Hippos, The Bondi Cigars and Eastern Lounge favourites The Shane Pacey Trio. Winner of The Sydney Blues Society awards ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and ‘Best Song Writer’, Shane is respected by all his peers, loved by audiences all over this land and is one of our country’s very finest all-round performers.
SALLY KING is also Australian Blues Royalty and winner of The Sydney Blues Society award as 'Favourite Female singer 2021'. For decades, a much-loved part of our Rhythm ’n’ Blues scene, Sally has toured with Bo Diddley, fronted her own bands and recorded the historic ‘Women'n Blues’ album with Wendy Saddington, Kate Dunbar, Margret RoadKnight and Jeannie Lewis. She’s blessed with an irresistibly authentic voice that settles into a groove from the first note she sings and has audiences instantly warming to her stage presence.
CLAYTON DOLEY is another bona fide legend of the Australian Blues Scene and winner of The Sydney Blues Society award as 'Favourite Keyboardist 2021/2022'. Internationally renowned Hammond organ and keyboard player, Clayton is a master musician and a remarkable Singer/Songwriter who’s been described as "the most unique and sophisticated voice in contemporary retro Soul today." He has played with Australian greats from Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss and Silverchair, to The Divinyls, Renee Geyer and Richard Clapton. He’s also toured overseas with everyone from Steve Cropper & Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn (Booker T & the M.G.’s, Blues Brothers), to Harry Manx, Joe Bonamassa and David Garibaldi (Tower Of Power). We were lucky enough to see him perform his Bayou Billabong project at Eastern Lounge in October.
Now he’s back… and he’s brought some friends! Oh and by the way, collectively, PACEY KING & DOLEY was awarded the title of 'Favourite Band of the Year 2022' by the Sydney Blues Society.
Each of the three leads is a brilliant singer and songwriter renowned for amazing vocal ability and dynamic live performances. But this is not Blues like you’d expect… it’s upbeat, fun and energetic, with a side of cheekiness. Add a killer Rhythm Section in David Green on Bass and Dave Fester on drums and you have a band that proudly presents the finest in Australian Performance Blues… make sure you have your dancing shoes on! Don’t miss it!
SOUTHERN JUNCTION
Fermented in the richness of Blues, infused with Americana, Country and Soul and spiced with Funk and R ‘n’ B, Taya Chani is a chameleon Queen with powerful yet silky pipes, who is also a solid, dynamic and rhythmic guitar player.
Her Co-Founder of Southern Junction is Blues guitarist Matt ‘Lightning’ Ross. Matt has been playing the Sydney and regional Australian circuits for 25 years, as a solo artist and member of various bands. A true ‘triple threat’ (singer and songwriter too), he’s renowned for his love of Americana and Southern Soul music and led another quality group, ‘The Gospel Storm’.
Southern Junction is an incredible 4-piece line-up with an engine room powered by the solid and ever soulful Mick Malouf on Bass and Declan Kelly on Drums and vocals. The band brings together the varied influences of Southern music, creating a junction point of Rhythm and Blues, Country, Soul, early Rock ‘n Roll and Gospel.
A Southern Junction performance combines new original material written by Taya and Matt with covers of genre classics. The band boasts decades of collective performance experience and knows how to bring energy, joy and poignancy to every gig!
